Marko Grobelnik, JSI
Marko is a Chief Technical Officer at IRCAI -- International Research Center on Artificial Intelligence under the auspices of UNESCO and a deputy head of Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence at the Jozef Stefan Institute, the national research institute in Slovenia. He collaborates with major European and global academic institutions and consults for industries such as British Telecom, Microsoft Research, Nature, New York Times, Bloomberg, and Accenture and is actively involved as an expert for AI with international organizations including UNESCO, OECD, EU, and the Council of Europe. Marko is the author of several books in the area of machine learning, data mining, text mining, and semantic technologies and authored many scientific papers. Marko is the Slovenian National representative for digitalization, the CEO of the company Quintelligence, a member of the management boards of Knowledge4All Foundation and the AI4Good Foundation. Marko served as a program chair for the various international conferences including the Web Conference, the European Machine Learning conference, the European Semantic Web Conference. Marko has been involved in more than 30 international research projects as project coordinator, technical coordinator, and leads research scientist.
